Why your facebook ads *probably* suck
In certain ways, AI is just going to totally out compete you. Everybody knows this. We can be really disciplined. We are capable of great things. But we’re not exactly designed to take action like a machine.
You know this. I know this. Everybody knows this.
So Meta has been bushing AI for some time. And that is rapidly sidelining interest led targeting, lookalike audiences, and all that jazz.
That’s why you want to be using advantage plus campaigns, and maybe signalling to it a few soft logical boundaries.
Aside from your creative, the most important thing is the writing. The headlines. The primary text.
You can either learn how to write headlines and primary text. Or you can get an expert to do it for you.
The second way is faster.
A lot of business owners hear that “facebook ads don’t work”.
Whole industries become skeptical. Then someone like me comes along, takes one look at the ads that industry has tried running and sees a gold mine.
Slapping any old ad into media together, writing up something off the top of your head and leaving everything to chance is why you aren't making money.
It’s like bundling cash into a big old spherical snowman body, carting it up to the peak of The Lonely Mountain and hurling it into the burning pit to rule them all. (LOTR reference*)
Oh, one last thing…… You must advance preview every single on of your automated ads to see how your creative, primary text, and headlines show up to customers. There’s 10s of these for each ad when you do this right. It’s time-consuming. But if you don’t do it? You’re going to waste a good deal of budget on ads that flop BIG TIME.
People are not going to click through to take the actions you want if the ad or text aren’t congruent. That’s why your CPMs are high.
